Hi, my name is Sonia. My husband and I have been homeless for over a month, living in our car, which is now at risk of being repossessed. If we lose the car, we lose everything, our shelter, and our only way to work.
We both work DoorDash and rely entirely on this car to survive. I used to drive for Uber but lost that car and haven't been able to recover since. We've fallen behind on payments and are now on the verge of losing our last lifeline.
Even with the car, we sleep in unsafe public areas. Every night, we fear someone might break in or that law enforcement will force us to move. We've gone days without enough food, making everything harder.
We lost our home after our apartment complex unfairly charged us for damages left by previous tenants and other issues. We plan to dispute this, but for now, we've pawned everything we could and borrowed money we need to pay back. We are out of options.
We are both mentally and physically drained and struggling to find the strength to keep going. We have been so stressed that we want to give up. This might be our last try before things get worse.
We also had to leave our beloved cats with someone we know. They are safe, but we are desperate to bring them home as soon as possible.
More than anything, we want a stable starting point to rebuild our lives and avoid the dangers that come with living on the streets.
Any donation or share would truly mean the world to us. Thank you for reading and caring.
