Struggling songwriter

Hi everyone!

My name is Nuno and I’m a 25 year old from Portugal. It comes as a hard decision to officially ask for help with this, since I’d only do this in a desperate stage. The reason is I’m a songwriter who has the chance to work on my dream in South Korea but I’m lacking the money to do so regardless of the amount of work I put in.

I don’t come from an affluent family, I have had to start working from when I was 17 and haven’t stopped ever since, even whilst I was studying. I was able to study in the UK while juggling two jobs because the tuition fees were financed by the government and I was able to graduate a Popular Music course at Middlesex University.

After graduation I stayed in the UK for one more year working a full time job in the hope I’d be able to save any money, but high rents and bills took me back to my dad’s home in Portugal. Since I’ve been here, I’ve been working physical jobs pretty much non stop and at the moment I do transport for a school, I work in a Korean supermarket and at a Korean restaurant, which means I work literally everyday of the week, and leaves me just a couple of hours a day to work on my dream which is to be a songwriter. (Sleep? I don’t have time for that…)

I have been, apart from those 3 jobs, working with producers and songwriters to try and make a name for myself and hopefully live off royalties in the future. But the busy work schedule as well as time zones make it incredibly hard to be effective and follow deadlines.

This money would help me SO much to add to my savings so I can get the flight ticket, get a deposit on a rented flat and be closer to working with the people I’ve been so far trying to work with over the distance.
