Hello, my name is Cheryl. I’m a single Mom and have been for about 7 years. We’ve been in the Cambridge area for 18-19 years now.
With the current rise in everyday costs, I am now finding myself sinking and sinking fast. Currently behind two months rent along with 3 months worth of bills.
Cov*d...what can I even say. Covi*d destroyed my little family, mostly mentally and financially and some physically.
My youngest daughter currently plays Cambridge rep hockey here in town (for the past ten years), and this is the first year I’ve been solely responsible for all her fees.
Rent increases, gas price increases, and grocery increase. Loss of CCTB and child support as one of my daughters aged out. I also had a small business inside the Old Marina Restaurant, which we all know has sadly burned down, taking my products down with it. I’m not sure where to turn anymore and have run out of options.
This is extremely humiliating for me, and can only imagine what it’ll do to my daughters should they see this posted. So to them, I'm so sorry that I've failed you both.
I do know that with the holidays coming, I can’t carry on and I’m not willing to lose my one daughter who remains with me at home.
Thank you all for listening and hopefully understanding. Single income life just isn’t working anymore during these every day life increases. This battle is winning. :(
