Struck By Train: Relief for Delwayne and family

Hi everyone, I am fundraising for my uncle, Delwayne Thomas, his wife, Stephanie and their son. This funding will be to help to assist the family with household expenses as well as gas & transportation, getting Delwayne to and from his necessary appointments.
Delwayne is a professional truck driver with 35 years of experience in the industry. In those 35 years, Delwayne has never been in an accident and has always maintained a clean driving record. This tragic event took place on Friday, July 29th 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana at a section of Highway 1 and French Road.
Delwayne, hauling Saltwater in his tank, was exiting his work site. As required, he made sure to get out and close the gate behind him, as the gate does not close automatically. The gate is located directly aside the train tracks, where the truck was parked. In an attempt to close the gate, Delwayne noticed the train coming and rushed to move his truck out of the way. It was to late. He was struck by the train and severely injured as a result.
Delwayne was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance with broken ribs, a broken knee and head trauma.
It is worth mentioning that the train tracks DO NOT have any signals to indicate when a train is coming. The tracks do not have Lowering Gates or Flashing Red Lights. We must bring awareness to ensure the safety of other drivers.
