We have decided to run the Stroud half marathon in dedication of our nan. She suffered with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) for years, and sadly she is no longer with us. This disease causes progressive and irreversible damage to the lungs, and has a huge affect on a persons life. We have seen this firsthand, and slowly watched our nan loose her life to this disease. Over time, she found it harder to do everyday tasks that most of us would find easy, and eventually ended up house bound attached to an oxygen tube. We have seen and experienced the effects of this disease on both the victim and their family, and are determined to do what we can to help others who may be affected by COPD, by raising money for the charity Live Well with COPD.
