Hi my name is Caroline Denny and after a break of 12 years, croquet in Stroud, Gloucestershire, UK, has found a new home. Stratford Park, on the site of the previous Stroud Bowls Club lawn. However to set up a club we need some money to pay for the lawn and it's upkeep, and equipment like malletts and balls. We launched on April 21st 2026 with old but usable mallets, balls and hoops. There is a good deal of interest but we need to show the council ( the land owner) we are serious and will be able to get a permanent club going, just like The Bear of Rodborough was. We have to hire the lawn, and get equipment so a fundraiser is needed. Your reward will be coming to our club and enjoying a game in beautiful Stroud. The council maintenance team had a award winning park and superb lawn, and with funding we can have that again. Once we have regular members and events we can be self sufficient.
