August 16th: After Marlow had shown signs of what they thought was the flu, (parents) Sophie and Travis took him to the Lamar Emergency Room.  Instead of treatment, they diagnosed Marlow with a much more serious condition - Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome - and sent him via Medivac to Children's Mercy in Kansas City. 

What is HUS: This condition affects the blood and blood vessels and results in the destruction of blood platelets, a low red blood cell count and kidney failure (due to damage to small blood vessels of the kidneys). 

August 19th: Marlow is currently on a ventilator and dialysis.  The road to recovery is not clear but we are confident in Marlow's fighting spirit and the healing power of prayer from his family and friends.   If you want to follow along, daily updates are available on Sophie's Facebook Page or by searching the hashtag #Stronger4Marlow
