Hello Friends of the Buffalo!
Thank you for all of your love and support as we begin our journey with our vivacious and beautiful Bernadette to CRUSH the Cancer! Anything you can do to help is something special and will make a difference.
In the same week early in March the order to shelter in place was issued, the next day Bernadette was laid off, and the day after that, the results of a routine procedure the week prior came back malignant. It was a traumatic week for her to say the least. Upon further consultation and review, it was determined that the best course of action was to undergo major surgery to remove the cancerous tissue. She progressed post-surgery very well and was out of the hospital in only 3 days. She has been recovering at home with the help of her awesome roommate and our amazing friend Veronica who flew in all the way from Atlanta to come help care for our Buffalo! Later that same week we all got a message from our girl that the pathology from her surgery showed that the cancer had entered her lymph system in at least one duct. This, she said, put her in stage III and that she will need to begin chemo therapy as soon as she fully recovers from her surgery.
This was not the news we had hoped and prayed for, and, it is the reality our beautiful friend must now face. Fortunately she is one of the most positive and amazing humans on the earth and she has a vast village that is rolling up their sleeves ready to help carry her through this setback with our powerful strength of Unity, Light, and Love.
Please join us in helping our Bernadette to focus on the long road ahead of her; to help her focus on her healing and not her now growing financial pressures with an unpredictable path. Anything you can give will go a long way. I know for some folks it is a really hard time right now. Our efforts here are not all about money. Bernadette needs every kind of love and support she can get. So whatever you can do, please do, and know that every positive thought, every prayer, every way you can give energetically, will indeed make every difference for our Buffalo!
