Stronger Than This

Hi, my name is JoEllen and I'm raising money for my cousin, Kelli Vallas Dieck. Kelli and I were raised more like sisters than cousins and this campaign means the world to me.

Some months ago, at the young age of just 39 years young, Kelli was diagnosed with triple negative BRCA-positive breast cancer. After months of grueling and costly treatments of three types of chemo, she underwent a double mastectomy and lymphadenectomy. During her post-operative visit, she was then told she would need to receive at least 30 rounds of radiation.

She was pronounced cancer-free at the time of her surgery, but has since had a PET scan that revealed several spots in her lungs and liver. After a biopsy of these spots, doctors determined that the cancer did metastasize and she has now been diagnosed with lung and liver cancer. She will need to receive both oral and intravenous chemo, likely for the duration of this disease.

However, we are NOT GIVING UP HOPE. Anyone who knows her, knows that she is a fighter and a survivor and we are believing she can beat the odds.

In the interim, I am asking for financial help and support for her family. As we are all well aware, medical care in America is astronomical and fighting persistent diseases like cancer can be both emotionally and financially draining. With the surmounting medical bills her family is facing, I would like to at least try to alleviate some of the financial burden in any way possible so that she can focus on the most important aspect of her journey - her healing.
