Our dear friend and brother, Matt Mears is facing the fight of his life—for the second time.
Matt has been diagnosed again with Stomach cancer, after beating it the first time. As if that alone wasn't enough, Matt is also enduring a level of personal tragedy most of us can’t begin to comprehend:
In February of last year, Matt lost his beloved wife and their two beautiful daughters in a tragic accident caused by a drunk driver. One moment, they were driving home. The next, they were gone.
Matt has somehow kept going. With unimaginable strength and grace, he tried to rebuild his life—with his youngest daughter, heartbroken, but determined to honor the memory of his wife older daughters. Just as he was starting to find his footing, cancer returned.

Why We’re Asking for Help
Matt is now undergoing chemotherapy and will require surgery and long-term treatment. Because of his weakened immune system, he had to leave his job as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He is now facing medical bills, mortgage, and basic living expenses while battling cancer.
Matt is not the kind of man who asks for help. He’s the one who gives it—being the first to show up when anyone needs a hand.
But now, he needs us.
