On Sunday, October 5, 2025 our beloved, Anissa Washington, suffered a stroke resulting in her being life-flighted to Houston for emergency care. She is now preparing to begin inpatient rehabilitation at Kindred Hospital Houston Medical Center, where she will continue her journey toward recovery.

Anissa has always been a cornerstone for the Southeast Texas community. She is an active and devoted member of the Alpha Psi Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. in Beaumont, Texas where she not only contributes her time and leadership but also serves as the campus advisor for the Lamar University Mu Epsilon Undergraduate Chapter. In addition, she proudly serves on the executive board of the Golden Triangle NPHC, continuing her lifelong commitment to service, sisterhood, and uplifting others.

As much as Anissa is a pillar in her community, she is also the glue of our family—an amazing aunt, daughter, and sister whose love and presence hold us all together. Her laughter, guidance, and strength have shaped so many of our lives, and her warmth continues to be a light for everyone who knows her.

Now, it’s our turn to show up for her. We are raising funds to assist with medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and the necessary adjustments and supplies that will help her regain a sense of normalcy once she is discharged from the hospital.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping Anissa and ensuring she has the support she needs during this critical time. Your generosity and prayers mean more than words can express as we stand beside her on this journey to healing.
