Hello, my name is Shraddha Joglekar, and I am the Artistic Director of KalaAwishkar Dance School in San Jose. For the past 19 years, KalaAwishkar has been privileged to conduct Indian classical dance classes at Dance Arts Academy (DAA) on 5725 Winfield Blvd—a space that has nurtured dancers for over 50 years.

However, time has taken its toll on the flooring, and as the only dance school at DAA that practices barefoot, we urgently need a safe and sturdy floor to prevent injuries and continue our practice. A strong foundation is essential not just for our dance, but for the well-being of every dancer who graces this space.

KalaAwishkar has flourished at DAA, and we are incredibly grateful for this space that has been our home. To ensure that we preserve this sacred space for future generations, we are stepping forward to help the owner install a brand-new dance floor—one that will allow us to dance safely, train passionately, and inspire endlessly.
