Strong Like Chari - Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
My name is David and I am Chari's husband. Together we have 5 kids.
On 12/18/20 Chari went in for a CT due to some abdominal pain. She had been feeling pain on and off for a few months, mostly in her rib cage and lower back. Then it moved to an intense burning in her stomach. Thinking it was a cyst, the doctor referred her for a scan. It was on a Friday. Monday before Christmas she was told an 8cm tumor was growing in her liver, and metastatic cancer was visibly spread throughout her body, including her lungs.
It took a few weeks, several visits to the ER, a bout of intense nausea and vomiting, and a PET scan before we found out it was stage 4 cervical cancer. In a matter of weeks, Chari has gone from a physically powerful woman to needing help on stairs and getting up from sitting.
The great news is we found an amazing cancer treatment team! Chemo started on January 12, 2021. It was 9.5 hours long and Chari was a warrior. We are anticipating a minimum of 5 months for chemo treatment, during which time Chari will not be working. Your support, prayers, and positive thoughts are what she needs. Thank you for holding strong and seeing Chari through to victory!
