Hi. My name is Deanna Clear. I am fundraising for my husband Scott Rice. In March 2022 he had surgery for a ruptured brain aneurysm. The results of this are similar to a stroke. He is still in a skilled nursing facility. He is paralysed except for limited movement of his arms and hands. Medicare stopped paying for his care including therapy in July 2022. We are getting some public assistance, but it does not pay for everything. At present we owe over $14,000 to the skilled nursing facility , and this increases every month by $1,343. His surgeon has told me that he should be able to walk again. I want to pay for extensive therapy for him so this can happen. I visit him almost every day and need help with automobile expenses.

Scott Rice is a very brilliant and remarkable man. It is very difficult to see him in this condition. We are both artists and have been through some tough times that depleted our savings. I thought I would have had more success marketing my paintings by this time as Scott should have had with his writing. I hope I can find a way to bring him home again. We miss each other so much. We've loved each other since 1977.
