Our dear friend Melissa Sager has shown more courage and strength than anyone should ever have to. In July, Melissa suffered a stroke, which has left her facing a long road of recovery and intensive therapy several times a week. Her husband, Philip, has been by her side every step of the way — driving her to therapy appointments, caring for her at home, and helping her manage daily life.

Because of the time and care Melissa needs, Philip has been unable to work, and Melissa cannot work due to her condition. They are currently without regular income support, and the financial challenges of daily life and ongoing therapy have added significant stress during an already difficult time.

Melissa is no stranger to adversity - she has already overcome brain cancer and continues to approach every challenge with grace, humor, and resilience. Through it all, she remains positive and determined, and Philip’s love and dedication have never wavered.

We (her friends Dana and Brandi) went to high school with Melissa and have seen firsthand her warmth, humor, and strength. We’re starting this GoFundMe to help ease the financial stress that has come with her recovery - to help cover living expenses, transportation, and therapy costs so they can focus on what truly matters: healing and time together.
