StRolling with Avery

Our 5 year old daughter, Avery, was born with a very rare syndrome which brings many challenges, one being low muscle tone and in her case, the inability to walk independently. We are lucky that insurance has covered an indoor activity chair that provides proper support for Avery while seated. Unfortunately, insurances will only cover one seating system per 5 (ish) years. Avery will eventually need a proper wheelchair that she will use when attending school that we hope insurance will cover as well. 

As Avery continues to grow, she is quickly outgrowing strollers that are meant for babies and young toddlers. She loves to be outside and go for walks. We are hoping to purchase a special needs jogging stroller, as well as an “everyday” stroller that can be used to transport Avery to and from doctors offices, in and out of the hospitals for appointments, as well as easier maneuvering in stores (once it becomes a safer option post Covid). 

Having the need for adaptive equipment as a child grows is very expensive. We have saved, but know there are other expenses in our near future as well. The cost of these strollers can be anywhere from $800-$3,000. We want to make sure we are purchasing something that Avery can use now- but can also grow into. 

We are very humbly asking if you feel you have the ability to contribute to Avery’s stroller fund, to please help our little cutie get some wheels to allow her to enjoy the outside and feel included in her community.
