Stroke Struggles: Randy & Kelly Need Your Support
Donation protected
On May 19th, my husband Randy suffered a massive stroke and had to have a blood clot removed from the right side of is brain. Unfortunately, for the first time in our lives, we do not have medical insurance and are facing financial uncertainty. Because of the severity of this stroke, the recovery will take time and he possibly will not be able to work again. We have begun the paperwork for his disability through Social Security but know that takes 24-48 months to be approved at a minimum.
Along with what I expect to be an extremely expensive hospital bill, his medicine for his heart is also extremely expensive running $600 to $700 a month for a 30 day supply each (he now takes a total of 5 different heart meds). To add to our stress, we have also lost his weekly salary (he was the main income for us); the only income we have now is my social security. Now we are trying to figure out how to live off my retirement which will not cover our monthly living expenses along with our now mounting medical expenses.
This is very hard for us to reach out for help as we have always been able to pay our bills each month responsibly. But for circumstances out of our control, our world has been turned upside down. I know in my heart that God brought us to this and he will get us through this but, right now now we need some help from our family, friends and acquaintances. Any financial help that you can provide will lessen the burden on us. As we begin to bounce back, as always, we intend to pay it forward in the future as God's children and his teachings. God bless and thank you again....
