AsSalaamuAlaikum WaRahMahTulahi WaBarakatu, My name is Sis Omi Rahim and today I come asking for my people, my community, the fellow members of my Ummah/family for your aid.
Very recently, my daughter Mecca Abdur-Rahim had 4 Lacunar Infarct strokes that’s left her hospitalized and without the (full) function of one half of her body’s limbs.
Many of you know my daughter; and even if you don’t, you should know that for someone like her who’s ALWAYS on the move , this is probably one of (if not) THE biggest test of her lifetime (so far).
She is among other things, unshakably loyal, undoubtedly determined, and FIERCELY independent. Mecca would NOT ask anyone to do ANYTHING for her unless it was an ABSOLUTE emergency and even then she’d try a hundred different ways to get it (whatever IT is) done before she parted her lips for aid.
It’s an admirable trait I’m grateful she has but in THIS instance, I’ve come to the conclusion that pride won’t prove useful and so I’ve taken the liberty to ask FOR HER.
As I said she’s hospitalized and will have to endure (who knows how many) weeks of physical therapy before she’s back to her usual busy-bodied self which means as you could imagine, she CANNOT work/earn her normal monthly incomes from companies like Insta cart, door dash, Uber, Lift AND substitute teaching (it’s alot I know but that’s Mecca...Alhumdulillah my baby is many things but LAZY is NOT one of them) AND recuperate.
She needs help/sadaqah to pay living expenses and medical bills that will no doubt mount the longer her stay (in the hospital) is.
She’s under quarantine (in this Covid environment) so she cannot have visitors and she’s got two teenagers at home she cannot be there for and the least I/WE can do is try and make sure the last thing she’s got to worry about is how a light bill will get paid or where the money to food shop will come from.
Prophet Muhammad (peace & blessings be upon him) once said,
“The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever”.
So I’m asking you to please respond In’Shaa’Allah.
No gesture will go unappreciated; no amount is to small. Whatever you can give will be used to ensure that the only tears my daughter cries from now till she WALKS out of there are ones of gratitude, appreciation, and joy.
JhazakAllahHulKhair in advance.
May Allah swt purify your intent, shower YOU with the same mercy and generosity (if ever you should need it) and reward you ALL immensely and accordingly (for whatever you can do/give to help) in this life and the next.
Ameen.
