I am starting this go fund me page for Steve and Gen Frigon. They are a dear couple from our church. They both volunteer countless hours and love helping others.
Gen had a heart incident 2 weeks ago and is now scheduled to go in for open heart surgery in 3 weeks approximately. She is wearing a portable defibrillator, so she doesn’t have to stay in the hospital. While waiting for surgery last Monday her husband wakes up to go to work and has a severe stroke in the bathroom.
He was rushed to ER and then air lifted by helicopter to Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael Ca. He had a blocked carotid artery on Monday and then did surgery to unblock it. When they did that, he got a brain bleed. Then his blood pressure dropped to nothing and he then had to have a pacemaker put into control his blood pressure. Woke up the next day to a fever. His fever has now passed. These procedures are all very expensive.
It’s been a week and we are very hopeful that he will completely regain his function of his right side and his speech and vision.
Now the hospital is transferring him to a nursing care facility. He is going to have to pay $750for the day he goes in and $106. Per day to stay there. His estimated time to be in the facility is 3-6 weeks. His wife Gen is getting stressed and a bit overwhelmed. Crying tears daily some tears of joy as he regains some of his functioning. The doctors are encouraged about his progress so far.
The hospitals are beginning to pressure her about payment.
North Bay hospital is asking for $350. For the emergency room the day she brought him in.
Mercy San Juan has asked for $7200. Already. This doesn’t include any of the radiology bills or any physician bills. They are still to come. He has had MRI’s and CT scans daily.
Gen Doesn’t drive right now long distances and her husband is over 1 hour away. The insurance will not authorize for her husband to come closer to where they live so she can monitor her husband’s progress and encourage and help him.
Our church is rallying around them both we have been providing rides to Sacramento to see him daily. We have provided meals to Gen and emotional support. We are hoping that your help to give donations can help this amazing couple to regain their happy life once again. Married 19 years this year and they are so sweet together.
This is an urgent situation funds are needed right away.
Please share this with your network of social media i.e. Facebook. We appreciate and thank you in advance for your donations to this couple.
Any questions I would be happy to answer them.
