In January, my life changed in a way I never expected. I suffered a stroke. One moment life felt normal, and the next everything became uncertain. A stroke doesn’t just affect your health — it affects every part of your life. Since that day, my focus has been on recovery. Some days are better than others, but every day is a reminder of how fragile life can be. I'm grateful to still be here, but the truth is that recovery is only one part of the battle. The other battle is the one people don’t always see. Bills keep coming. The mortgage is still due. Life doesn’t pause just because your body needs time to heal. Right now, I'm on disability, but the payments have been taking time to come through. Meanwhile the bills keep piling up. It's stressful and overwhelming, especially when all I want to focus on is getting better and rebuilding my strength.
Going through something like this teaches you a lot about life. You realize how quickly things can change. You realize how important support is — from family, friends, and even strangers who care. I’m doing everything I can to stay strong and keep pushing forward. Recovery is a long road, but I believe better days are ahead. If there’s one thing I’ve learned through all of this, it’s that none of us truly knows what someone else may be going through. A little kindness, understanding, and support can mean more than words can express. Right now my goal is simple: heal, stay hopeful, and take life one day at a time.
