Stroke Recovery Support for Diane
Donation protected
Just days before Christmas 2022, Diane suffered a severe left-brain (ischemic) stroke, drastically changing her life. She is currently bed-ridden and rendered with aphasia, a condition affecting the ability to understand or process language; dysphagia, a swallowing disorder that requires a feeding tube; apraxia, the connection between the brain and the muscles that control speech; right-side paralysis; and a major depressive disorder.
Nearly two months later, she moved to a Skilled Nursing and Rehab Facility. She is actively improving each day with speech and physical therapies. But our public healthcare system will only provide a limited amount days of care under Medicare, then Medicaid kicks in and they will take her home this year that she purchased on her own over 30 years ago and lived in independently as a successful Long & Foster real estate agent in the Frederick community.
So why do we need to raise funds? To secure Diane’s healthcare for recovery.
Diane always took excellent care of herself, she ate a healthy nearly vegan diet, exercised daily, and kept a positive spirit – which she is fondly known as Perpetually Positive! She has a great chance of recovery due to the many years she took good care of herself. To all that know Diane, she is one of the most generous, kind, and unconditionally accepting human beings. She would not hesitate to help someone in whatever way she could, whether it be finding odd jobs to help them with their income, or simply donating to her favorite charities. But now – she needs her kindness returned.
Loved ones, colleagues, and friends have set up this GoFundMe page to cover the medical expenses, loss of income, rehabilitation time, and relocation costs for Diane Rhoades.
We know that life happens fast and tragic; unexpected moments can happen to any of us. If you pray, please pray. If you manifest, please manifest, we ask you to send Diane good thoughts and energy every day. Share Diane’s story across as many platforms as you have available.
And if you are able, please donate to Diane’s medical bills and rehabilitation. Any help would be greatly appreciated to ease some of the stress of this time.
