Stroke Recovery Fund for Rose Hecht
Donation protected
On December 1st, 2022, Rose had a life-altering stroke while driving her car. Thanks to the intervention of another motorist and the fast actions of first responders, she received critical medication at the scene, was swiftly hospitalized and successfully treated for the blood clot in her brain. This very likely saved her life. Even so, the incident has resulted in substantial disability.
At a young 39 years old, Rose is now beginning the complicated process of recovery from an Ischemic Stroke. She is experiencing Left Side Paralysis, with loss of mobility and sensation in her arm and leg, as well as brain injury, causing cognitive processing difficulties. This has made returning to work and continuing to live in her second-story apartment untenable in the short term.
Rose is now living with and receiving care from her family. Medication and physical therapy are helping her to progress in her recovery, but she still has a long and strenuous road ahead. These difficulties are complicated further by mounting medical costs and the expense of daily needs. The cost of her hospital stay, procedures, medications, physical therapy, health and transportation, aid, and support moving belongings from her apartment, are all costs she will soon need to cover. Rose will not qualify for disability until she has been unable to work for a full year and needs support regaining the health, income, and independence she has lost.
Every donation, no matter the size, will provide assistance to Rose and her family during this difficult time. We would be grateful beyond measure if you could share this campaign, make a donation, and support Rose in her recovery.
