Stroke Recovery Fund for Joan

Donation protected
Our sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to so many, Joan Dickinson, has been a selfless volunteer teacher for over 17 years, providing free piano lessons and kindergarten education to countless children in our community. Unfortunately, on 14 March 2023, she suffered a stroke that left her with left-side paralysis and restricted mobility, which could confine her to a wheelchair.

As a family, we are hopeful that she will regain some mobility and be able to live independently one day soon. However, despite aggressive physical therapy, she has made very little progress. Because of this, her home requires significant renovations to become wheelchair accessible.

We are asking for your help to raise funds to cover the cost of the necessary renovations, including installing ramps, modifying doorways, and adding a wheelchair-accessible bathroom. In addition to these renovations, she will need various medical equipment to help her with her day-to-day life. Unfortunately, Medicare will only cover the cost of one piece of medical equipment, so we would be very grateful for any contributions to also assist in purchasing the necessary medical equipment.

Joan has touched so many lives and has significantly impacted our community. Let’s come together to show her how much we appreciate and support her in her time of need.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
