Stroke recovery for Jeremy Ling
Donation protected
On October 21st, my brother Jeremy suffered an MCA (middle cerebral artery) stroke on the left side of his brain. It affected the right side of his body, especially his ability to communicate. They determined this was caused by him having A-FIB. (something he didn’t know he had). Jeremy will have to undergo inpatient therapy to increase his range of motion and will have extensive speech therapy to be able to fully communicate again.
The cardiologist went in to perform a procedure called cardioversion. It is a medical procedure that uses quick, low-energy shocks to restore a regular heart rhythm. They had found another clot in his heart and could not do the procedure. They cannot try again until approximately 3 months or so. He is on Digoxin for his AFib and on Eliquis, a blood thinner, to help decrease the clotting ability of the blood and help prevent harmful clots from forming.
Jeremy has a very long recovery ahead of him. We do not know at this point if he will have the ability to work again.
With him not having any insurance at the moment, we have decided to start this GoFundMe until Jeremy gets approved for Medicaid and disability. His main source of income is on hold and long term financial outlook is more dire.
Let’s rally the village now and put the parts in place for his optimal healing. Friends, family, and community, we ask for your help. Please consider donating what you can, any amount will truly make a difference. Thank you so much.
