Stroke leads to leukemia diagnosis

My father-in-law suffered from a stroke after a ruptured anuerism Feb 23rd, 2023 a week after being terminated for the company not being able to afford senior employee wages. When his oldest son rushed him to the hospital, they immediately started brain surgery to stop the bleeding. This was when they discovered he also had leukemia. Due to the diagnosis of cancer, his brain hasn't been able to stop bleeding so the surgery could not be complete. He is currently in the ICU under ventilation, sedated, on blood transfusion, with a second surgery where they placed a shunt to drain the blood, and on medication to hopefully help stop the bleeding. At this time, if the bleeding is able to stop within the next few days they will proceed to complete the second surgery to remove the rest of the blood from his brain. If successful, we will proceed to cancer treatment. The initial bleed has resulted in permanent brain damage but we are unable to know to what extent at this time. We appreciate your support.

Mi suegro sufrió un derrame cerebral después de una ruptura de aneurisma el 23 de febrero de 2023, una semana después de haber sido despedido porque la empresa no podía pagar los salarios de los empleados senior. En este momento, si el sangrado logra detenerse en los próximos días, se procederá a completar la segunda cirugía para extraer el resto de la sangre de su cerebro.
