Stroke Awareness Ride
Hey guys, for a year 12, stage 2 health project this year I am researching strokes, the impact they have and how to prevent them. This is a very close to home topic for myself as an extremely close relative of mine has recently experienced a stroke.
One of the key prevention methods along with healthy eating, treating high blood pressure and controlling cholesterol is exercise.
In order to raise awareness, this Sunday 23 of August I am going to be completing 50,000 seconds, which translates to 13 hours and 54 minutes straight on a C2 bike erg which is the equivalent of a stationary road bike. This amount of time correlates to the 50,000 Australians who have a stroke each year.
In an aim to create awareness, I ask you to donate a few dollars as all proceeds will go 100% to the Stroke Foundation which will be placed into further stroke research.
If you cannot donate any founds I totally understand and ask for you to create awareness on this topic by visiting the link below. This link provides education on the signs of strokes so that you could spot a stroke and potentially save one's life, as the longer someone is left having a stroke, the higher the chance of future disability or death.
