Stringer Family rebuilding efforts

This is personal  (my response to Harvey) and how you can help.   From a coffee shop Owner in Chicago

 

I am sure if you have been watching the news at all you know that we had a huge hurricane in the South.   Being someone from the south I saw the news and figured it will be just another storm and it will blow over but at the same time the question in the back of my head will this be another disaster like I experienced in the past with Katrina.
 


So how does all of this effect me  I grew up in South East Texas.   I actually lived in Port Arthur Texas during my Elementary years.  It is not that news worthy actually.    I later moved to New Orleans where my sister lived until Katrina hit. 



 

12 years ago she and her two kids lost everything but luckily for her she had her Big brother in Chicago who helped her overcome the obstacle.  It was a challenging time but people all over the place came together to help her and the other victims affected.  

 

12 years later it happened again and this time hitting an area where several of my  Aunts, Uncles and Cousins live.   Most of them are ok but My cousin Derek was most effected.   He is married to Lisha and they have 3 kids  Triston, Raleigh, and Emalee

  
 


 

So I don’t make many request like this.   But I thought to myself we have an awesome community here and I would hope that if something like this were to happen to me my community would help.  Actually several people did help us when we had a mini flood a month or so back and I truly appreciate the support they gave us.  The damage for us pails in comparison to what they are experiencing.
   

Anyway you can always give to the red cross link and I encourage you to think about it. 

 

But here is the thing there is a family you can help and I know them personally, actually they are extended Overflow family

 Lets show him how the Overflow Community Supports the victims of Harvey!

This is my babygirl, Lisha Stringer, she and Derek Stringer lost everything. The hardest thing of being a mother...this hurt on her eyes...devastates me to the core. Why? I know she is not the only one out there, but she is mine and I wish it was me instead..my heart is shattered. A Go Fund me account will be posted soon...please help my babies find a normal again...God Bless Us and God Bless Texas.
