Hello, my name is Ron Pipes and I am fundraising due to my financial situation caused by the shutdown of work caused by the WGA & SAG/AFTRA strikes. Like so many individuals who are “below the line” work stopped at the beginning of the year for me. Before any strikes were issued I had applied and was granted EDD DISABILITY. Unfortunately EDD DISABILITY decided to cancel my claim in July and demanded I pay them back. I’m still In talks with them about this but until this matter is settled I can’t apply for EDD UNEMPLOYMENT. I applied for what ever funding was available and used up what little savings I had left from the covid period and had some dear friends come to my aid to pay some of my expenses. Now I am at rock bottom and will not be able to make it through the coming months with my monthly expenses and added veterinary bills until work starts up hopefully in January.

I really am embarrassed that I have to reach out in this way. So many people are in the same situation or worse.
