Strike fund—Edinburgh Social Care Direct workers

Donation protected
Members of Unite the Union in the City of Edinburgh Council working in Social Care Direct (Children and Families) are taking industrial action over their treatment by management, imposed changes and failure to deal with issues raised by workers. Read up to date details of the dispute on Unite CEC branch's website.

These workers are the 'front door' to social work for Children and Families. They are dedicated, long-time employees and senior professionals who are wholly committed to the welfare of children in Edinburgh, but have been forced to take drastic measures due to their voices being ignored for over a year and the Council's dereliction of duty when it comes to taking issues raised seriously.

What your donation will be used for
We want to make sure that no worker suffers financial hardship as a result of any aspect of this dispute and as a result of our member’s principled stance to be absent from work and unpaid during periods of strike action.
