The teacher’s union in Albany has been on strike a week. We have a $1000 donation match if we can get there. The district threatened to take away health insurance yesterday. We have many people who are in need of help.

We are asking for smaller class sizes, more prep time, safer classrooms, more student support, and a competitive wage. We have been bargaining with the district since February with little to no agreements, until we started mediation in September. We are asking for crisis funds for our building, South Albany, to help with immediate relief for our staff. We have many staff who are the sole providers for their families. All donations will go directly to SA staff to support their needs during this hardship.
