Strides to save lives

Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Keswick Mountain Rescue Team, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
More information about Keswick Mountain Rescue Team: Keswick Mountain Rescue Team is comprised of nearly 50 members who are available 24/7 to carry out rescues on the surrounding fells here in the Lake District. Rescues include trauma injuries, such as broken ankles; medical issues e.g. cardiac arrests; and people lost or benighted. We attend around 100 rescues each year, including one or two fatalities. None of the team is paid, and most juggle team membership with paid work, family commitments and their own enjoyment of the hills.

On the 3rd August 2024 nearly 1 year ago I suffered the most horrific accident that has changed my life forever.
Me and my fiancee decided to go to the lake district for a nice weekend in the campervan and we wanted to go and see the Thirlmere waterfall and infinity pool, when we arrived in the lakes we walked upto the infinity pool at the top of the waterfall where we intended to get in like so many people did, there was already a couple in there, so I stripped down to my shorts and got in first then as I held out my hand to help my fiancee in I slipped on a rock and fell backwards and I just remember thinking I'm in trouble here the next thing I remember is waking up in Newcastle Royal Victoria hospital the next day, I had fallen 85ft into a shallow pool at the bottom of the waterfall, I don't remember any of it, from there my fiancee and another woman had rushed to my aid where they had to keep me still in the shallow pool because I was complaining about my back she said until Keswick Mountain rescue arrived after about 30 mins where I was given Morphine and stretchered down to the helicopter which was waiting to take me to hospital, I had to have stitches in my head where I had smashed my head open on the rocks and I had 2 broken ribs, a broken left shoulder blade and I broke my back where I had to have 11 pins as you can see in the picture

It's a day I'll never forget and my fiancee especially as she had to go through it all and she was there by my side every step of the way even for the week I was in hospital where she camped outside the hospital in the campervan because home was 138 mile away just so she could be at my side to help me which I am eternally grateful for.

I just want to raise as much money as I can just to say thank you to all the volunteers that risk thier lives everyday to save and help people like me that needed them on that day, I am gonna do something realistic for me with my condition with my back so I've decided to set a target of 160 miles walking in the 31 days of August

I appreciate every person that donates because it's going to such a worthy cause
Thanks x
