Hi, we’re Carl and Bertie, two young filmmakers coming together to create our short film STRIDE.
STRIDE is a short film about youth, inequality, and unity. Through the stoy of two lives leading to a running race, the film explores the contrasts of life between a rich child and a poor child, and how—despite very different starting points—they exist side by side in the same world. The race becomes a metaphor for life: different resources, different pressures, but the same human drive.
We both love filmmaking and storytelling, and STRIDE is a project that matters deeply to us. Growing up, we’ve seen how class and opportunity can shape young lives, often unfairly. This film is our way of starting a conversation about those inequalities, while also showing the possibility of understanding, empathy, and unification between classes in today’s world.
All funds raised will go directly into making the film the best it can be—covering equipment, locations, food for cast and crew, and post-production. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us take another step toward bringing STRIDE to life.
By supporting this project, you’re not just helping fund a short film — you’re supporting young voices, creative ambition, and a message of unity.
Thank you for believing in us and in STRIDE.
