Strict Tempo is a weekly series airing on Twitch Thursday nights (US) featuring guest live and DJ sets from international artists hosted by Seattle-based DJ Vox Sinistra.

The external hard drive with all the files from the show since July 2020 had a sudden mechanical failure last month, and the cost to retrieve the data with data recovery services will be $2,000. The search for cheaper alternatives that seem reliable was fruitless, as it's a specialized and highly technical field, and the procedure involves certified clean rooms, scalpel-like tools and hazmat suits. And we need those files back safely for sure. Eep!

This drive contains all of Vox Sinistra's livestream sets for the past year (several of which are unpublished), files for future mixes underway and Vox digital music collection, visuals edited and created for the show in real-time, guest sets from the show and, well, 4TB of many hundreds of hours of work overall. Double eep!

Last week, she held an impromptu fundraiser during the weekly Twitch stream and raised almost $500 (yay!), but getting the files back won't be possible to do without the help of the Strict community. A big thank you for the support <3
