While on vacation in Myrtle Beach, Sara found herself in the local hospital to follow up on some odd pregnancy symptoms. There is where she learned that her water had broken and she was dilating silently. Without having a chance to say good-bye to Big Brother Wyatt or her husband Josh she was immediately admitted and transferred to a hospital in Florence, SC where she was told she would stay for the duration of her pregnancy.
She had impossible conversations with doctors and nurses, and due to COVID-19, did so alone. Josh is a police officer with the Ottawa Police Department and had no choice but to report back to work. The family packed up and had to leave to go back home to Ohio and thus leaving Sara alone in SC at the hospital. Her sister and her family were able to drive and be with her.
On July 20th, around 2am, Sara was rushed to the OR for an emergency C-section. Baby boy was born at 1 lb 11oz at 23 weeks 5 days. He is stable and Mom is recovering.
The Strick Family does not know what lies ahead so we ask for prayers for healing and growing and health.
In the coming weeks and months there will be alot of traveling back and forth from Ohio to South Carolina. Hospital bills have started as little brother is currently in the NICU and will stay there due to his micro-preemie status for many months to come. There's not much we can do to help, as Friends and Family that love the Strick Family, but we can help ease the financial burden they will assuredly face.
Please take the time to Share this page with others. As a community I want to lift them up and support them and ease their worries on things we can help with so their focus can remain on family.
I will update here with anything the family wishes to share.
