Hello, this page is being started by the friends and family of Richard Kelley, otherwise known as “Stretch”. Stretch is a husband to Carol of 20 years and a father of two daughters, Anna and Katie, a brother, uncle and friend. He is an avid hunter and fisherman who loves to spend fishing time with Carol and his daughters or his friends.

Rich has been a commercial driver for nearly his whole career. The years of driving these trucks have begun to wear down his back and neck. This part of Rich’s story began when he was on disability for his back and neck for a month or so. His wife, Carol, had noticed he was confusing his words and forgetting things frequently. He was becoming frustrated with the inability to remember the simplest details. He had an appointment with his doctor on August 2nd to be released to return to work. Carol had insisted that Rich be checked by an MRI. He had the MRI and the results turned their lives upside down: they had found a mass on the left side of his brain. On August 8th, he had brain surgery to remove a tumor which was diagnosed as Glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer.

These contributions will be used to offset the out of pocket costs of insurance co-payments, unknown treatment and travel costs from Newfane to Roswell at least five days a week for the next six weeks for radiation treatments, along with a daily chemotherapy treatment. Beyond this time, it will be unknown what other treatments may be needed to monitor for any future growth.
