Support for the Stone Family
My name is Madison, and I have the privilege of calling Karen and Brian Stone not just coworkers, but dear friends. Brian was recently and unexpectedly diagnosed with Waldenström’s Macroglobulinemia, a rare and incurable form of blood cancer that affects only about five people per million in the U.S.
Their nightmare began when Brian visited his doctor for fatigue and shortness of breath, only to discover he was dangerously anemic. What started as a routine checkup quickly spiraled into emergency room visits, blood transfusions, and, within weeks, a life-changing diagnosis.
Brian and Karen are some of the most health-conscious, vibrant people I know, making this diagnosis all the more shocking and unfair. Starting in mid-April, Brian will begin six months of chemotherapy along with additional treatments. His oncologist has given a prognosis of 2–10 years, and while the road ahead is uncertain, one thing is clear—their focus should be on time together, healing, and finding joy, not the overwhelming financial burden of medical bills.
The expenses are already mounting after just a handful of appointments, with many more to come. No one should have to worry about finances while battling something this profound. If you feel called to support them, any donation—big or small—is a blessing.
Brian and Karen have spent their lives giving to others, spreading kindness and light wherever they go. Now, it’s our turn to give back. Thank you for your generosity, prayers, and love for the Stone family.
