Strength for Heather
Donation protected
You wouldn't know the obstacles and pain our friend Heather has been through by meeting her. She is the most upbeat, unselfish, and genuinely caring woman. The truth is that at a young age she lost her mother and grandmother to cancer. Two years later, her father passed away unexpectedly. And now, at age 30, Heather herself is fighting breast cancer.
Heather is a mom, sister, wife, friend, and fighter. She met her husband in college and quickly realized they had a tragic connection. Will's mother unexpectedly passed away at a young age and he also lost his stepmother to breast cancer. Will simply adores Heather and together they have two precious children. Despite their hardships, Heather and Will continuously express how blessed and thankful they are.
Anyone that knows Heather well is floored and in awe of her unwavering strength, not just in the past few months, but her entire life. We have all been inspired and honored to call her a friend. She is an example of how to face hard times with a positive attitude and find joy in all that life brings. Her story is one we think deserves to be shared.
When anyone hears Heather’s story, their first thought is “What can I do to help?” The answer to that question is this page. The Milburn’s monthly health insurance premium has nearly doubled and they have a high deductible to meet each year. They also have the expenses of medicines and the day-to-day costs of running a household with two small children. The goal of this page is to help reduce the financial stress that comes with this horrible disease.
Thanks for reading and for your support. Please follow Heather's CaringBridge below as she gives us a window into her thoughts and feelings throughout her Pink Journey. Just like us, we think you will be moved by her amazing story.
