Strengthening Jenny's Journey Ahead
Donation protected
The morning of August 27th started off just like any other day at the Oman house. Jenny woke up early to exercise, Jeff was getting ready for work, and Taylin was snuggled into her new big girl bed. Right before Jeff was ready to leave for work he heard a loud noise and Jenny yelled to him. Upon reaching Jenny, Jeff knew there was a medical emergency and called 911.
Jenny was transported to Morton Hospital via ambulance and substantially moved to Rhode Island Hospital Stroke Unit where it was determined that at just 35 years old, she suffered an Acute Ischemic MCA (Middle Cerebral Artery) Stroke. The MCA vessels provide blood supply to parts of the frontal, temporal, and parietal lobes of the brain and when a blood clot is present a patient presents with neurological symptoms, such as weakness, dizziness, numbness, issues with speech, or visual changes. The medical team at Rhode Island Hospital acted quickly and were able to provide Jenny with quick life saving medical intervention.
It will be a long road to recovery however, Jenny has made HUGE strides in a very short period of time. She is young, resilient, and a fighter! Jenny has started intensive Speech, Occupational, and Physical Therapy services to help her regain normal function. Anyone that knows Jenny Oman, knows how strong she is (sometimes I think the Govain twins are Superwomen!), but she will continue to need the love, support, and strength from her village to help her reach her goal of a full recovery. We know how amazing this community is and we hope that you all will continue to help support this #OmanPartyof3. Your donation, however big or small, will be greatly appreciated and will help provide financial relief for medications, medical bills, co-pays, loss of income from Jenny being out of work, meals, etc. Thank you from the bottom of our heart <3
