Hi, my name is Dan and I am fundraising for a very good friend of mine, Mike Jones AKA Jonesey to most.

On Wednesday Mike visited his GP due to a blister on his toe that was taking longer to heal than expected. The doctor he saw wasn't happy and sent him straight to Crawley hospital who then sent him to East Surrey for further tests and later on to St George's hospital in Tooting where he will remain for at least the next month.

After a multitude of tests and X-rays at St George's it was revealed that Mike had a serious infection which had unfortunately spread to the bone. Due to the severity of the infection Mike has had to undergo life-changing surgery that has resulted in his right leg being amputated below the knee.

As someone who is active day to day this has been a huge shock not only to Mike but to his family and friends.

Mike is the main carer for his Mum due to her ill health so not only are we raising funds to help with Mike's recovery and loss of earnings but also to organise carers for his Mum so he can relax and know that she is being looked after.

Mike is a very proud man and doesn't ask for help even when he needs it the most, he plays a huge part in raising funds for local communities via events such as iFest and various gigs.

Mike has a great sense of humour even in this situation he is still making us laugh and cracking jokes at his own expense so it's time for us to give back and help get him back on his foot!
