Let's begin with Vern's incredible story. For 27 years, Vern dedicated himself to being a power lineman, finding true passion in his work. Whenever a storm hit, Vern was always ready to rush out the door, eager to restore power and help those in need. His commitment to swiftly and efficiently bringing light back into people's lives was truly remarkable.

But now, it's our turn to come together and support Vern during his own time of need. Beyond his dedication to his job, Vern is an extraordinary father and husband. With three biological children and two bonus children, he has built a beautiful, blended family alongside his wife Stephanie. Together, they have created a life filled with love, sports, and countless activities.

However, everything changed in April of 2020. It was a day that no one ever wants to experience, a day when Vern received the devastating news of stage 4 metastatic cancer. In that moment, their lives were turned upside down. Since then, Vern has fought tirelessly, becoming determined, disciplined, focused, and driven to live. He is determined to defy the prognosis and witness his children graduate, excel in their sports, and embark on their journeys into adulthood.

Unfortunately, this battle has brought about an unexpected financial burden for Vern and his family. Recently, they received even more distressing news - the cancer is growing. It is at this point that we ask you to keep this incredible family in your thoughts, as this is their harsh reality. The fundraiser we have set up is their lifeline, enabling Vern and his family to solely focus on his well-being without the added stress of financial worries. With five children, some of whom are graduating and participating in various sports activities, it is crucial for Vern to provide for his family's needs while he continues his courageous fight for survival.
