Strength in Unity: Fundraising for Melissa Solomon

In the quiet corners of life, where the mundane and extraordinary intersect, unfolds the story of Melissa Solomon, a brave soul whose life took an unexpected turn with the diagnosis of brain cancer at the early age of 43 years old. 8 years ago, she was diagnosed with grade 2 Oligoastrocytoma. November 15th, 2023, she experienced another seizure that prompted an MRI which revealed recurrent growth. On December 1st, 2023, Missy underwent another awake craniotomy—a challenging surgery resulting in the removal of an estimated 50% of the tumor. We anticipate receiving the final pathology within the next two weeks. The neurosurgeon did say that by the cells he did see and the growth speed of the tumor it is likely a grade 3 or grade 4. Once we receive the pathology report of course we will know more. Her story is not defined by despair but illuminated by the unwavering light of courage. Melissa is embarking on a challenging journey, navigating the complexities of treatments, surgeries, and the emotional rollercoaster that comes with a life-altering diagnosis. Through it all, Melissa remains hopeful.
