Strength in Unity: Fundraiser for Mark Anthony Carnecer

To Friends, family, and anyone who maybe reading this. I ask kindly for your time to read this story and hopefully get a little help for a friend.

I am Arlene Elano, Deputy Manager of one of the care setting of Pendine Park Care Organisation. I am also an active Parish Pastoral Council committee member of Wrexham Cathedral.

Mark Anthony is a friend whom some of you may know. He came to the UK in June of 2022 from the Philippines; a dream come true of his to live and work here, he has since become a good friend of mine and a co-worker of many here in Wrexham.

Unfortunately, the news I have to share with you today is that Mark has recently been diagnosed with Cancer. A grade 2 Tumour located in his Pelvic area called Myxopapillary Ependymoma.

Being a mother of a son who also had to fight cancer, my heart feels deeply for Mark and what he is suffering. Both Mark and my son met each other in the hospital; two strong souls who had to face the terrible news of their condition, having to fight a battle, and needing help.

We were blessed with the best medical care and truly understood the importance of the help of others, especially family and friends. Without the support and love from everyone, we wouldn’t have been able to get through it.

However, Mark is far from his home, and far from his family. Unfortunately, Mark is also unable to receive government fund, although he has free medical and hospital care but he has NO RECOURSE TO PUBLIC FUNDS due to the limitations of his Visa. And he is in great need of our support at this time.

His wife who came to UK to be his main carer has to work even with overtime to support their bills, house rent and other household necessities.

So now, we are asking for anyone reading this, not only for your prayers but to help fund Mark while on treatment. We ask you and as a community, to support in any way that you can- by sharing the news, giving your time, and giving a donation of your desire for Mark. So that he may be lifted off the pressure of no income and the expenses every day.

Together we can each help a little to help Mark greatly, so let’s hope we can all come together to bring positivity and support to someone in need at this time.

We have set up a ‘GoFundMe’ for Mark with a target goal of £15,000. Please give generously or give ideas in which we can help Mark and his family.

All funds raised will go directly to Mark and expenses required while he is on treatment.
