At the beginning of August 2025, Annette suffered a massive stroke. In an instant, everything changed, and the path ahead became steep, uncertain, and filled with challenges. Yet, if you know Annette, you know she is strong, determined, and fiercely independent--a true survivor.

Even after a week in ICU, almost three months in a rehabilitation facility, grueling physical therapy, and several months back home, the journey to recovery is far from over. Annette is still battling a variety of cognitive, physical, and emotional effects including speech aphasia. Regardless of any obstacles, Annette continues to conquer milestones that once seemed impossible with an unrelenting tenacity that is truly inspirational. Even on the toughest days, a glimpse of her signature silly, lighthearted spirit shines through, reminding us all of the importance of hope and value of a positive mindset.

​The Current Challenge: Our $10,000 Goal

​While the recovery has been amazing, even shocking Annette most days, the financial toll is absolutely daunting.

​Unfortunately Annette is currently ineligible for most of the stroke recovery assistance programs that others rely on, as their primarily focus is on covering medical expenses. The short-term/long-term disability process is slow and ongoing and currently she is facing the crushing burden of monthly bills without any income.

​This campaign aims to raise funds to help Annette cover the essential, non-medical bills that continue to pile up as she focuses her energy on continued rehabilitation.
