Strength for Lily!

Dear Family, Friends and Community, Lily Meade needs our help. On Thursday, December 8th, Lily came home from school with a headache, mild fever and generally not feeling well. In barely 24 hours, her fever worsened considerably, rising to 105 degrees, and she was immediately taken to the Doylestown Hospital. Testing quickly made it clear her condition was very, very serious, and she was brought to CHOP via helicopter. Lily has a very severe case of the flu, which caused pneumonia, difficulty breathing, heart and blood pressure issues, and additional organ dysfunction. She is currently on life support systems in the ICU and is in a medically induced coma. She’s being treated by some of the best doctors in the world and is receiving excellent care. Lily is still in the early stages of her treatment and is still in critical condition. CHOP has estimated that she’ll be there for approximately 4 weeks.

While Lily has a tough road ahead, she is a fighter!! Everyone who knows her knows this is 110% true. She is an incredible friend, classmate and teammate. Her easy-going, funny, kind personality rubs off on everyone around her. Seeing their sweet Lily in this condition rather than enjoying the holiday season with family and friends is incredibly difficult for the Meade family and all those who love her. Her parents, Melissa and Jon, have been at her side since her admission focused on her care. They plan to start rotating to ensure someone is always there with her and the other with their sons at home.

Please pray for a full, speedy recovery. Melissa and Jon are so thankful already for the outpouring of support. It means the world.

The next 4 weeks are going to be challenging emotionally and logistically, forget even thinking about the financial impact of a hospital stay like this, gas for daily driving, food, etc. this will have. This is where we need the community to rally behind Lily and the Meade family.
