A few weeks ago, my cousin Lautaro suffered a life-changing accident. He fell from a moving train and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. After surgery, doctors had to amputate part of his leg to save his life.

Lautaro is only 17 years old. He is a bright, loving, hardworking kid who dreamed of becoming a soccer player. He is now beginning a long and painful recovery process — both physically and emotionally.

He was recently discharged from the hospital, but the reality at home is extremely difficult.

His mother, Mimi, cannot work right now because she must care for him full-time, as well as his two younger sisters. The family is facing:

    •    Medical bills

    •    Daily medications and wound care supplies

    •    Special equipment for mobility and home adaptation

    •    Rent and basic living expenses during this difficult period

This situation has placed an enormous financial burden on the family.

We are asking for help so Lautaro can have the care, support, and stability he needs during this long recovery. Any amount — big or small — will make a difference.
