On August 31, 2025 my brother’s life was violently altered when a drunk driver struck him as he stood outside of his car, completely unprotected as a pedestrian. In that moment, one reckless decision shattered his body and changed our family forever.

He was rushed into surgery, where doctors worked tirelessly to save his life. For more than 20 hours, they fought to repair the extreme injuries to his lower body. The damage is devastating—injuries that no family should ever have to witness a loved one endure. Seeing him lying there, surrounded by machines and fighting through unbearable pain, has been the most heartbreaking experience of our lives.

And yet—he is still here. Against all odds, he survived. That miracle gives us hope. But his road ahead is long, uncertain, and filled with challenges. He faces countless surgeries, a painful recovery, and the uphill battle of relearning what most of us take for granted—simply standing, walking, and moving freely.

No family can ever prepare for the financial and emotional toll of something like this. Between medical bills, rehabilitation, and long-term care, the burden is staggering. We are reaching out because we cannot carry this weight alone.
