Riley and Kaiti wanted a family more than anything. They spent all they had trying to make that dream come true (so many doctors, shots, expenses, etc. for years). After a lot of pain, heartache, and loss, they were able to stay pregnant for over 3 months! WITH TWINS! So many happy tears! Excitement! Abounding love! I cannot tell you how much this meant to them and their family. It was a baby extravaganza Christmas with all kinds of cute outfits, etc.
Unfortunately, Kaiti and Riley's story took a turn no one expected. The girls, expected to arrive in May, came early. Way early.
I will let their Mama's heart-wrenching words tell their story.
"I came in Tuesday to have a procedure done to try to keep the girls in longer, but they were unable to do it, and I was hospitalized. I started having contractions that night, but they were able to stop them. I was able to be off the medicine all day Wednesday with no issues, but Thursday morning around 1:30 am, the girls started coming. They could not stop, so we ended up having our first little girl, Brailee Joy, at 1:50 am and Dani Lynn at 1:52 pm.
They both struggled with their blood pressure and oxygen, but that was to be expected since they came at 23 weeks and 5 days.
We lost Dani Friday morning. She fought so hard and long enough for us both to get to cuddle her and hold her in her final moments. She was beautiful and perfect in every way. For someone so young and small, she was extremely strong. She did not have to give us the time she did, but she did, and we are blessed to have gotten that time with her.
Brailee is growing stronger each day and showing us how feisty she already is. She has been kicking the nurses and knocking off her leads every chance she gets. She already has a reputation in the NICU. She still has a long road ahead of her, but she is overcoming each step and doing so great. We've both got to hold her, and though it hurts, it has been healing to have her in our arms.
We ask that you keep praying for Brailee to get strong and to send love to Dani in Heaven. We know that Dani is in a better place, surrounded by all of our loved ones that will take care of her and spoil her until we see her again."
This young couple is facing a lot of expenses, missed work, and the list goes on and on. Of course, there was no life insurance. If there's any way you can help them lay Dani Lynn to rest, help them with expenses - it may not ease their pain - but it will help relieve some stress. Please keep this family in your prayers as well.
Thank you all and God Bless.
