Strength and Support for Michael Petryshyn

Our friend and colleague Michael Petryshyn has been supporting himself as a massage therapist in NYC for over 20 years. His thriving Thai Massage practice fell apart when he was in a bicycle accident on Christmas Eve 2018. Michael's injuries put him in the hospital where it was discovered that he had an autoimmune disorder.

Over the last year, Michael has suffered from severe inflammation of his joints, a weak immune system, anemia, and debilitating pain. He has only been able to work a few weeks and has no other income.

Michael recently passed out in his shower and was taken to the hospital for five days where they tested him for everything from lupus to ms, to cancer. Medicaid has refused to pay for his hospital stay and they have not approved a bone biopsy test that Michael desperately needs.

Michael is very proud and has not wanted to accept any help, even though he has had to ask local restaurants for leftover food for the past year as he is unable to afford groceries. I convinced him to let me start this fundraiser because I know how serious his situation is and how urgently he needs help.

All funds raised will be given to Michael to help him pay for food, rent and his enormous medical bills.

Michael has brought such care and relief to his many clients over the years- I'm hoping we can do the same for him!
