My oldest brother George received devastating news last month: a stage 4 cancer diagnosis. We are all still in shock as we move day by day through the overwhelm learning this news brings. Today, February 10th is his first chemotherapy treatment. His chemo is a 2 day long infusion that he will take home with him. Treatment is every other week for 6 rounds, at which point his doctors will evaluate his body's response. If there's enough improvement, he will then undergo major surgery: a colon resection and HIPEC (feel free to Google this procedure if you're interested). The recovery from this invasive procedure will be weeks.
George and Patty face very uncertain times ahead and I know first hand what financial relief can provide to a family who is dealing with serious health struggles. We all want George to focus on treatment and healing and with your help he can hopefully have more energy to make better decisions about his health, for him and his family. This will give them all the opportunity to rest when they need it. If you feel compelled and are able to help my brother and Patty through these next couple of months, our whole family would be so grateful.
