Our lives changed forever when Brittney went into extreme premature labor while on vacation in Mexico. After the traumatic and impossible decision was made to risk flying to Los Angeles, our daughter, Zoey, was born far too early at just 26 weeks. Instead of bringing our baby girl home, we began a long and uncertain journey in the NICU 400 miles from home.
For the past 9 weeks, Zoey has been fighting every single day. She is so strong, but her journey is far from over. While we have been able to get her transferred to UCSF, Doctors expect she will need to remain in the NICU for at least another 5 weeks as she continues to grow, develop, and overcome the challenges that come with being born so early.
Watching your baby fight this hard is something no parent can ever be prepared for. The ups and downs, the machines, the waiting, the hope—it’s all overwhelming. But through it all, Zoey continues to show us how brave and resilient she is.
While we are doing everything we can to be by her side, this journey has also brought significant financial strain. Between ongoing medical care, Mike’s flights back and forth for 5 weeks, daily travel to the hospital, meals, and time away from work, the costs are quickly adding up.
Right now, our focus is entirely on Zoey—being present for her, supporting her, and celebrating every small victory along the way.
We are asking for help so we can continue to be there for our daughter without the added weight of financial stress. Any donation, no matter the size, will help cover medical costs, travel costs, food and daily necessities while we focus on Zoey.
Any donation, big or small, means the world to us. Even sharing this page helps more than you know.
Thank you for lifting our family up with your love, prayers, and support. Zoey still has a long road ahead, but we believe in her strength—and we are so grateful to have a community standing with us.
With all our love and gratitude,
Brittney and Mike
